The new mechanical design makes tube care much easier. The probe no longer needs to be disassembled to replace a tiny "coupler".
The probe tip of the XGD probe is simply pulled off and can be replaced in seconds without the risk of damaging the probe transducers through untrained handling.
The manufacturer recommends changing the probe tips after every 10 measurements or earplug changes.
Replace the holder for the earplugs immediately if it is contaminated with cerumen.
