Current ATS / ERS (American Thoracic and European Respiratory Society) and NIOSH guidelines recommend calibrating or checking your spirometers on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of results.At least once a day, preferably 10 minutes. After switching on the instrument, you should perform a calibration. As a result of the calibration, the computer calculates the correction factors. To accurately determine the lung volume, the measurement acquisition system (P tube, P tube sieve, IOS head (option), pressure transducer, amplifier) must be calibrated. A calibration pump with a defined volume is used for calibration.
